Our Story

The BIrth of Mandarette

Cecilia Chiang (“The Queen of Chinese Cuisine”, video story by CNN 2018), and her son Philip Chiang (Entrepreneur, co-founder of P.F. Chang) opened this restaurant on Beverly Blvd. on 1984.

After huge success of both high-end, authentic Mandarin restaurants in San Francisco and Beverly Hills, they opened the third one here, which is smaller, and more intimate.

Their original goal was “offering clean, fresh, delicious traditional Chinese Cuisine with a modern twist.”

At 1990’s, Philip entrusted this restaurant to his head chef Mr. Yang’s family for starting the journey of P. F. Chang restaurant chain.
